Leopard Frog
The Leopard Frog is a medium-sized amphibian known for its distinctive green or brown skin marked with dark spots, resembling a leopard's coat. This species is commonly found in North America, inhabiting wetlands, ponds, and marshes. They are excellent jumpers and can often be seen basking in the sun or hiding among vegetation.
Leopard Frogs are carnivorous, primarily feeding on insects, small invertebrates, and occasionally small fish. They play a vital role in their ecosystem by controlling insect populations. Breeding typically occurs in spring, with females laying eggs in shallow water, where the tadpoles develop before transforming into adult frogs.
