Leica M-mount
The Leica M-mount is a camera lens mount system developed by Leica Camera AG. Introduced in 1954 with the Leica M3, it is designed for use with rangefinder cameras. The mount allows for a wide variety of high-quality lenses, known for their sharpness and unique rendering characteristics, to be attached to compatible camera bodies.
The M-mount features a bayonet design, enabling quick and secure lens changes. It has a short flange distance, which allows for the use of adapters to fit other lens types. This versatility has made the M-mount popular among photographers who appreciate both vintage and modern optics.
