Legião Urbana
Legião Urbana was a popular Brazilian rock band formed in 1982 in Brasília. The group, led by singer and songwriter Renato Russo, became known for its poetic lyrics and a unique blend of rock, punk, and new wave influences. Their music often addressed social issues, love, and existential themes, resonating with a wide audience in Brazil.
The band released several successful albums, including Dois and O Descobrimento do Brasil, which featured hits like "Eduardo e Mônica" and "Faroeste Caboclo." Legião Urbana disbanded in 1996 after Renato Russo's death, but their music continues to influence Brazilian rock and remains beloved by fans.
