Left Hepatic Duct
The Left Hepatic Duct is a vital part of the liver's bile drainage system. It collects bile produced by the left lobe of the liver and transports it to the Common Hepatic Duct, which eventually leads to the gallbladder and small intestine. Bile is essential for digesting fats and removing waste products from the body.
This duct is one of two main hepatic ducts, the other being the Right Hepatic Duct. Together, they play a crucial role in maintaining proper liver function and digestion. Any blockage or damage to the left duct can lead to serious health issues, including jaundice and liver dysfunction.
