Lee Strasberg was an influential American actor, director, and acting teacher, best known for his work in the development of the Method Acting technique. Born on November 17, 1901, in Budapesti, Hungary, he immigrated to the United States as a child. Strasberg co-founded the Group Theatre in 1931, which aimed to create socially relevant plays and foster a new approach to acting.
Strasberg later became the artistic director of the Actors Studio, where he taught many famous actors, including Marlon Brando and Al Pacino. His emphasis on emotional authenticity and personal experience in performance has had a lasting impact on modern acting practices.
