Least Auklet
The Least Auklet is a small seabird belonging to the family Alcidae, which includes other auks, puffins, and murres. It is primarily found in the northern Pacific Ocean, particularly around the Bering Sea and the Aleutian Islands. This bird is known for its distinctive black and white plumage, with a small size of about 6 to 7 inches in length.
Least Auklets are social birds that often nest in large colonies on rocky cliffs and islands. They feed mainly on small marine invertebrates, such as zooplankton and krill, which they catch while diving underwater. Their population is affected by environmental changes and predation from seabirds and mammals.
