Layer 6
Layer 6, also known as the Presentation Layer, is the sixth layer of the OSI Model, which is a framework used to understand network communication. This layer is responsible for translating data between the application layer and the network. It ensures that data is in a usable format, handling tasks like data compression, encryption, and translation.
In addition to formatting data, Layer 6 also manages how data is presented to the user. It can convert data from one format to another, such as from ASCII to EBCDIC, making it easier for different systems to communicate effectively.
