Law Society of Ontario
The Law Society of Ontario is the regulatory body for lawyers and paralegals in the province of Ontario, Canada. Established in 1797, its primary role is to ensure that legal professionals meet high standards of practice and conduct. The society provides licensing, education, and support to its members while also protecting the public interest.
In addition to regulating the legal profession, the Law Society of Ontario promotes access to justice and legal education. It offers resources for the public to understand their legal rights and responsibilities, and it oversees the professional development of its members to maintain the integrity of the legal system.
