Lateral Epicondylitis
Lateral Epicondylitis, commonly known as tennis elbow, is a condition characterized by pain and inflammation on the outer part of the elbow. It occurs when the tendons that attach to the lateral epicondyle, a bony prominence on the elbow, become overused or strained. This condition is often associated with repetitive arm movements, such as those seen in sports or certain occupations.
Symptoms typically include pain and tenderness on the outer elbow, which may radiate down the forearm. Activities that involve gripping or lifting can exacerbate the discomfort. Treatment options often include rest, ice, physical therapy, and, in some cases, corticosteroid injections to reduce inflammation.
