Laser Systems
Laser systems are devices that generate and amplify light through a process called stimulated emission. They produce a focused beam of light that can be used for various applications, including cutting, welding, and medical procedures. The term "laser" stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.
These systems consist of a gain medium, which can be a solid, liquid, or gas, and a pair of mirrors that create a resonant cavity. When energy is supplied to the gain medium, it emits photons that bounce between the mirrors, amplifying the light. This technology is widely used in industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and telecommunications.
