Lantern Festivals
The Lantern Festival is a traditional celebration that marks the end of the Chinese New Year festivities. It usually takes place on the 15th day of the first lunar month, when the moon is at its fullest. During this festival, people light and release colorful lanterns into the sky or float them on water, symbolizing the arrival of spring and the hope for good fortune.
In addition to lantern displays, the festival often features various activities such as solving riddles written on lanterns, enjoying tangyuan (sweet rice balls), and participating in dragon and lion dances. These customs promote family unity and community spirit, making the Lantern Festival a joyful occasion for all.
