Languages of the United States
The United States is a linguistically diverse country, with over 350 languages spoken. The most widely used language is English, which serves as the de facto national language. Other significant languages include Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, and Vietnamese, reflecting the country's multicultural population.
In addition to these, many indigenous languages are still spoken, such as Navajo and Cherokee. The presence of various immigrant communities has contributed to this rich tapestry of languages, making the U.S. a unique example of linguistic variety in a single nation.
