Landtag
The term "Landtag" refers to the regional parliament in several German-speaking countries, including Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Each Landtag is responsible for legislative functions at the state or regional level, dealing with issues such as education, law enforcement, and local infrastructure. Members of the Landtag are elected by the citizens of the respective region.
In Germany, each of the 16 federal states has its own Landtag, which operates independently from the federal parliament, known as the Bundestag. The Landtag plays a crucial role in shaping regional policies and laws, reflecting the interests and needs of the local population.
