Landmine Monitor
The Landmine Monitor is a research project that tracks the global use, production, and stockpiling of landmines and explosive remnants of war. It is part of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL), which advocates for the elimination of landmines and promotes the implementation of the Ottawa Treaty. The Monitor publishes annual reports that provide detailed information on landmine-related issues, including casualties and clearance efforts.
The project aims to raise awareness about the dangers posed by landmines and to hold governments accountable for their commitments under international law. By gathering data from various countries, the Landmine Monitor helps inform policymakers, humanitarian organizations, and the public about the ongoing impact of landmines on communities and the environment.
