Lamuka coalition
The Lamuka coalition is a political alliance formed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) ahead of the 2018 elections. It was created to unify various opposition parties against the ruling government, aiming to promote democratic governance and address issues such as corruption and poverty. Key figures in the coalition include Martin Fayulu, Moïse Katumbi, and Jean-Pierre Bemba.
The coalition's name, "Lamuka," means "wake up" in Lingala, symbolizing a call to action for the Congolese people. Despite its efforts, the coalition faced challenges during the elections, including allegations of electoral fraud and a divided opposition, which impacted its overall effectiveness.
