Lake Kenyir
Lake Kenyir is the largest man-made lake in Malaysia, located in the state of Terengganu. It was created in 1978 by damming the Kenilworth River for hydroelectric power generation. The lake covers an area of approximately 38,000 hectares and is surrounded by lush rainforests, making it a popular destination for nature lovers.
The lake is home to over 340 islands and is rich in biodiversity, including various species of fish and wildlife. Visitors can enjoy activities such as fishing, boating, and exploring the nearby Taman Negara national park, which is one of the oldest rainforests in the world.
