Lake Cenis
Lake Cenis is an artificial lake located in the Savoie region of the French Alps. It was created in the 1960s by damming the Arc River to provide hydroelectric power. The lake sits at an elevation of about 1,800 meters and covers an area of approximately 6.5 square kilometers.
Surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, Lake Cenis is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and skiing in the winter months. The lake also serves as a crucial water reservoir for the nearby Mont Cenis hydroelectric power station, contributing to the region's energy supply.
