Lahaul and Spiti
Lahaul and Spiti is a remote district in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is known for its stunning landscapes, featuring high mountains, deep valleys, and unique Buddhist culture. The region is divided into two parts: Lahaul, which is more populated and has lush green valleys, and Spiti, characterized by its arid terrain and ancient monasteries.
The area is accessible mainly during the summer months, as heavy snowfall in winter makes many roads impassable. Popular activities include trekking, river rafting, and exploring the rich heritage of Buddhist monasteries like Key Monastery and Tabo Monastery.
