Laguna Colorada
Laguna Colorada is a stunning high-altitude lake located in the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve in Bolivia. Known for its striking red color, the lake is rich in minerals and algae, which contribute to its unique hue. It sits at an elevation of about 4,200 meters (13,780 feet) and is surrounded by beautiful mountains and volcanic formations.
The lake is also a vital habitat for various wildlife, particularly flamingos. Three species of flamingos—Andean flamingo, James's flamingo, and Chilean flamingo—can be spotted here, making it a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and photographers. The area is characterized by its breathtaking landscapes and diverse ecosystems.
