Lady Mary Wroth
Lady Mary Wroth (1587–1651) was an English poet and playwright, recognized as one of the first women to write a sonnet sequence in English. She was a member of the Wroth family, which was connected to the Elizabethan court, and her notable work, "Pamphilia to Amphilanthus," reflects her experiences with love and desire.
Wroth's literary contributions were significant during the Renaissance period, and she is often associated with the Metaphysical poets. Her writings challenged the traditional roles of women in literature, making her an important figure in the history of women's writing in England.
