Lady Beetles
Lady beetles, also known as ladybugs, are small, round insects belonging to the family Coccinellidae. They are typically recognized by their bright red or orange bodies with black spots, although some species can be yellow or even black. These beneficial insects are commonly found in gardens and fields, where they help control pest populations, particularly aphids.
Lady beetles undergo a complete metamorphosis, starting as eggs, then developing into larvae, pupae, and finally adults. They are known for their voracious appetite for pests, making them valuable allies for gardeners and farmers. Their presence can indicate a healthy ecosystem, as they thrive in environments rich in plant diversity.
