Lachesis is one of the three Fates in Greek mythology, known as the goddess of fate and destiny. She is responsible for measuring the thread of life, determining how long each person's life will last. Lachesis ensures that everyone receives their allotted time, symbolizing the inevitability of fate and the passage of time.
In addition to her role in measuring life, Lachesis is often depicted with a staff or a measuring rod. She works alongside her sisters, Clotho, who spins the thread of life, and Atropos, who cuts it, representing the beginning, duration, and end of life, respectively.
