Lac Qui Parle Dam
The Lac Qui Parle Dam is located on the Lac Qui Parle River in western Minnesota. Constructed in 1939, it serves multiple purposes, including flood control, water supply, and recreation. The dam creates the Lac Qui Parle Reservoir, which is a popular spot for fishing, boating, and wildlife observation.
Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the dam plays a crucial role in managing water levels and protecting surrounding communities from flooding. The area around the reservoir is also home to various species of birds and other wildlife, making it an important ecological site.
