L. M. Montgomery
L. M. Montgomery, or Lucy Maud Montgomery, was a Canadian author born on November 30, 1874, in Clifton, Prince Edward Island. She is best known for her beloved novel, Anne of Green Gables, published in 1908, which tells the story of an imaginative orphan girl named Anne Shirley who finds a home with siblings Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert.
Montgomery wrote numerous novels, short stories, and essays throughout her career, often drawing inspiration from her surroundings in Prince Edward Island. Her works have been translated into many languages and continue to be cherished by readers around the world, making her one of Canada's most celebrated literary figures.
