L-29 Delfin
The L-29 Delfin is a military training aircraft developed in Czechoslovakia during the 1950s. Designed by Aero Vodochody, it features a low-wing configuration and a tandem seating arrangement for an instructor and a student. The aircraft is powered by a single Ivchenko AI-25 turbojet engine, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 500 knots.
Primarily used by the Czechoslovak Air Force, the L-29 Delfin has been exported to various countries and served in numerous air forces worldwide. Its versatility and ease of handling made it a popular choice for pilot training, and it has been succeeded by the more advanced L-39 Albatros.
