Kwan
Kwan is a traditional Chinese festival celebrated on the 15th day of the first lunar month, marking the end of the Chinese New Year celebrations. It is also known as the Lantern Festival, where people light and release lanterns into the sky, symbolizing the letting go of the past and welcoming new beginnings. Families often gather to enjoy sweet rice dumplings called tangyuan, which represent family unity and togetherness.
During Kwan, various activities take place, including lion dances, dragon dances, and solving riddles written on lanterns. The festival is a time for communities to come together, celebrate, and enjoy the beauty of the illuminated lanterns, creating a festive atmosphere filled with joy and hope for the year ahead.
