Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP)
The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) is a political party in the autonomous region of Kurdistan in northern Iraq. Founded in 1946, it aims to promote the rights and interests of the Kurdish people. The KDP has played a significant role in Kurdish politics and has been involved in various conflicts and negotiations for greater autonomy and recognition.
The KDP is one of the two main political parties in the Kurdistan Region, alongside the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). The party's leadership has historically been associated with the Barzani family, particularly Masoud Barzani, who served as the President of the Kurdistan Region.
