Kuntilanak
Kuntilanak is a well-known figure in Indonesian folklore, often depicted as the spirit of a woman who died during childbirth. She is typically portrayed as a pale woman in a white dress with long black hair, and her presence is often associated with eerie sounds, such as crying or wailing.
In many stories, Kuntilanak is said to haunt specific locations, particularly near trees or abandoned houses. While some tales depict her as a vengeful spirit, others suggest she can be protective, especially towards children. Her legend serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of neglecting pregnant women and the importance of respecting life.
