Kumyk Language
The Kumyk language is a Turkic language spoken primarily by the Kumyk people in the North Caucasus region of Russia. It is one of the official languages of the Dagestan Republic and has around 300,000 speakers. The language uses the Cyrillic script, which was adopted in the 1930s, and has influences from Arabic, Persian, and Russian.
Kumyk is part of the Oghuz branch of the Turkic language family, which also includes languages like Turkish and Azerbaijani. The language has a rich oral tradition, including folklore and poetry, and is an important aspect of the cultural identity of the Kumyk people.
