Kruidnoten
Kruidnoten are small, spiced cookies traditionally associated with the Dutch celebration of Sinterklaas. They are made from a mixture of flour, sugar, and various spices, including cinnamon, ginger, and cloves, giving them a distinctive flavor. Kruidnoten are often enjoyed as a snack during the festive season, typically from mid-November until December 5th.
These treats are often confused with pepernoten, which are slightly different in texture and flavor. Kruidnoten are crunchy and round, while pepernoten are more irregular and chewy. Both types of cookies are popular among children and adults alike, contributing to the festive atmosphere of the Sinterklaas holiday.
