Krishna Raja Sagara
Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) is a dam located in the Mandya district of Karnataka, India. Built across the Cauvery River, it was completed in 1932 and named after the then Maharaja of Mysore, Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV. The dam serves multiple purposes, including irrigation, hydroelectric power generation, and providing drinking water to nearby areas.
The reservoir created by the dam is a popular tourist destination, known for its scenic beauty and the Brindavan Gardens, which feature beautifully landscaped terraces and musical fountains.
