Kovu is a fictional character from Disney's animated film, The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. He is a young lion and the son of Zira, who is a follower of the villainous Scar. Kovu is initially raised to seek revenge against Simba, the protagonist and king of the Pride Lands, but he eventually develops a friendship with Kiara, Simba's daughter. Throughout the film, Kovu struggles with his identity and the expectations placed upon him by his mother. As he learns about love and acceptance, he chooses to break away from his family's legacy of hatred, ultimately seeking peace between the rival lion prides.
