Kostas Karyotakis
Kostas Karyotakis was a prominent Greek poet born on February 30, 1896, in Argos. He is known for his modernist style and his exploration of themes such as despair, love, and the human condition. Karyotakis's work often reflects his personal struggles and the socio-political climate of Greece during his lifetime.
He studied law at the University of Athens and later worked as a civil servant. Karyotakis's poetry gained recognition posthumously, particularly for his collection titled "The Poems" published in 1928. Tragically, he died by suicide on July 21, 1928, leaving behind a significant literary legacy.
