Korey Wise
Korey Wise is one of the five young men known as the Central Park Five, who were wrongfully convicted in the 1989 assault and rape of a jogger in Central Park, New York City. He was 16 years old at the time of his arrest and was sentenced to 5 to 15 years in prison. Wise's case drew significant media attention and highlighted issues of racial injustice and wrongful convictions.
After serving over 13 years in prison, Wise was exonerated in 2002 when DNA evidence and a confession from the actual perpetrator proved his innocence. His story has been featured in various media, including the Netflix miniseries titled "When They See Us," which sheds light on the injustices faced by him and the other members of the Central Park Five.
