Korean art history
Korean art history spans thousands of years, beginning with prehistoric cave paintings and pottery. The Three Kingdoms period (57 BC – 668 AD) saw the emergence of distinctive styles in sculpture and ceramics, influenced by Buddhism and Chinese art.
During the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392), celadon pottery became prominent, showcasing intricate designs. The Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) emphasized Confucian ideals, leading to the development of landscape painting and traditional ink wash techniques. Today, contemporary Korean artists continue to blend traditional elements with modern practices, reflecting Korea's rich cultural heritage.
