Korean People's Army (KPA)
The Korean People's Army (KPA) is the military force of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, commonly known as North Korea. Established in 1948, it is one of the largest standing armies in the world, comprising ground forces, naval forces, and air forces. The KPA is under the control of the ruling party, the Workers' Party of Korea, and is a key component of the country's defense strategy.
The KPA plays a significant role in North Korean society, with military service being mandatory for most citizens. It is known for its strong emphasis on ideology and loyalty to the state, particularly to its leaders, such as Kim Il-sung, Kim Jong-il, and the current leader, Kim Jong-un. The KPA also participates in various military parades and displays of power to showcase its capabilities.
