The Korean Joseon Dynasty was a dynastic kingdom that ruled Korea from 1392 to 1910. Founded by Yi Seong-gye, it is known for its significant cultural, political, and social developments. The dynasty established Confucianism as the state ideology, which influenced Korean society and governance for centuries.
During the Joseon period, advancements in science, technology, and the arts flourished. Notable achievements include the creation of the Korean script (Hangul) by King Sejong the Great and the development of traditional Korean painting and ceramics. The dynasty ended when Korea was annexed by Japan in 1910.
