Kodiak bear
The Kodiak bear is a large subspecies of the brown bear found on the Kodiak Archipelago in Alaska. They are among the largest bears in the world, with adult males weighing between 800 to 1,500 pounds. Kodiak bears have a thick, shaggy coat that varies in color from light brown to dark brown.
These bears primarily feed on salmon, berries, and vegetation, especially during the summer months when food is abundant. Kodiak bears are known for their impressive size and strength, making them powerful predators in their natural habitat. They typically hibernate during the winter, conserving energy until spring.
