Koalas are marsupials native to Australia, known for their distinctive fluffy ears and large, black noses. They primarily inhabit eucalyptus forests, where they spend most of their time in trees. Koalas are herbivores, feeding mainly on eucalyptus leaves, which provide them with the necessary nutrients despite being low in calories.
These animals are mostly nocturnal, resting up to 20 hours a day to conserve energy. Koalas have a unique reproductive system, giving birth to underdeveloped young that continue to grow in their mother's pouch. Due to habitat loss and disease, their populations are currently facing threats, making conservation efforts essential.
