Knight of the Garter
The "Knight of the Garter" is a member of the Order of the Garter, the oldest and most prestigious chivalric order in England. Founded in 1348 by King Edward III, the order honors those who have made significant contributions to the nation. Membership is limited and includes the monarch, royal family members, and selected individuals who have shown exceptional service.
The emblem of the order is a blue garter, which symbolizes loyalty and honor. Knights of the Garter participate in ceremonial events, including the annual Garter Day procession at Windsor Castle. The order's motto is "Honi soit qui mal y pense," meaning "Shame on him who thinks evil of it."
