Kiyomizu
Kiyomizu, meaning "clear water" in Japanese, is a historic district in Kyoto, Japan, known for its beautiful temples and traditional crafts. The most famous site is the Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site established in 778 AD. The temple is renowned for its wooden stage that juts out over the hillside, offering stunning views of cherry and maple trees, especially during spring and autumn.
In addition to the temple, Kiyomizu is famous for its pottery, particularly Kyo-yaki and Kyo-yaki ceramics. Visitors can explore narrow streets lined with shops selling handmade pottery, textiles, and traditional sweets. The area is a popular destination for tourists seeking to experience Kyoto's rich cultural heritage.
