Kiso Mountains
The Kiso Mountains are a mountain range located in central Japan, part of the larger Japanese Alps. They stretch across Nagano Prefecture and are known for their stunning natural beauty, including lush forests, deep valleys, and clear rivers. The area is popular for outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing, attracting nature enthusiasts and tourists alike.
The Kiso Mountains are also home to the historic Nakasendo Trail, an ancient route that connected Kyoto and Edo (now Tokyo). This trail features well-preserved post towns, such as Magome and Tsumago, which offer a glimpse into Japan's past and are popular destinations for visitors exploring the region.
