Kirill I
Kirill I is the current Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus', having assumed the position in February 2009. Born Vladimir Mikhailovich Gundyayev in 1946, he was educated at the Moscow Theological Seminary and the Moscow Theological Academy. Kirill has held various positions within the Russian Orthodox Church and is known for his efforts to strengthen the church's influence in Russian society.
As Patriarch, Kirill has focused on promoting traditional values and addressing social issues, including family and education. He has also worked to improve relations with other Christian denominations and has been involved in international dialogues, representing the Russian Orthodox Church on the global stage.
