Kingdom of the Two Sicilies
The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies was a historical state in Southern Italy, existing from 1816 until 1861. It was formed by the union of the Kingdom of Sicily and the Kingdom of Naples. The kingdom was ruled by the Bourbon dynasty and was known for its rich culture, agriculture, and strategic location in the Mediterranean.
In 1861, the kingdom was annexed by the newly unified Kingdom of Italy during the process of Italian unification, known as the Risorgimento. The annexation led to significant political and social changes in the region, impacting its economy and governance.
