Kingdom of Corea
The Kingdom of Corea was a historical state located on the Korean Peninsula, existing from 918 to 1392. It was founded by the Wang Geon, who established the Goryeo Dynasty. The kingdom is known for its advancements in culture, art, and technology, including the creation of the Korean script known as Hangul.
During its reign, the Kingdom of Corea faced invasions, notably from the Mongols in the 13th century. Despite these challenges, it maintained a rich cultural heritage, influencing later Korean history. The name "Corea" is the origin of the modern name "Korea," reflecting its historical significance.
