Kingbird
The Kingbird is a medium-sized songbird belonging to the family Tyrannidae. Known for its striking black and white plumage, it often has a distinctive yellow or orange patch on its tail. Kingbirds are found throughout North America, particularly in open areas like fields and gardens, where they can easily spot insects, their primary food source.
These birds are known for their aggressive behavior, especially during nesting season. They will fiercely defend their territory against larger birds, including hawks and crows. Kingbirds are also recognized for their acrobatic flight, often catching insects mid-air, showcasing their agility and hunting skills.
