King Władysław III
King Władysław III, also known as Władysław the Elbow-high, was a Polish king who reigned from 1434 to 1444. He was born in 1424 and became king at a young age after the death of his father, Władysław II Jagiełło. Władysław III is notable for his military campaigns, particularly his involvement in the Crusade against the Ottoman Empire.
In 1444, Władysław III led a significant military expedition to Varna in present-day Bulgaria. Unfortunately, he died in battle during this campaign, which marked a turning point in the struggle against the Ottomans. His death led to a power vacuum in Poland and a shift in the region's political landscape.
