Kim Foxx
Kim Foxx is an American attorney and politician who serves as the Cook County State's Attorney in Illinois. She was elected to this position in 2016, becoming the first African American woman to hold the role. Foxx is known for her focus on criminal justice reform, including efforts to reduce mass incarceration and address systemic inequalities within the legal system.
Before her election, Foxx worked as an assistant state's attorney and served as the chief of staff for Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle. Her tenure has been marked by initiatives aimed at improving community relations and enhancing public safety through alternative approaches to prosecution.
