Kilim
A Kilim is a type of flat-woven rug or tapestry, traditionally made in regions such as Turkey, Iran, and Central Asia. Unlike pile rugs, Kilims are created using a technique called tapestry weaving, which produces a thin, durable fabric. They often feature vibrant colors and intricate geometric patterns, reflecting the cultural heritage of the weavers.
Kilim rugs serve both functional and decorative purposes, commonly used as floor coverings, wall hangings, or even furniture upholstery. Each Kilim tells a story through its designs, often symbolizing the weaver's family history, beliefs, or local traditions.
