Kibō
Kibō, meaning "hope" in Japanese, is a module on the International Space Station (ISS). Launched in 2008, it serves as Japan's primary contribution to the ISS and is used for scientific research and experiments in microgravity. The module is equipped with advanced facilities for various fields, including biology, physics, and materials science.
The Kibō module consists of three main parts: the Pressurized Module, the Logistics Module, and the Exposed Facility. The Pressurized Module is where astronauts conduct experiments, while the Logistics Module is used for storage and supplies. The Exposed Facility allows experiments to be conducted in the vacuum of space, providing unique insights into space science.
